Anil Mathai has been dedicated to the Republican Party and its conservative platform since registering to vote at age 18 in the City of Brotherly Love, his hometown of Philadelphia, PA. After moving to Colorado in late 2010, he started with only an interest in running for National Delegate; a miracle that led him to the 2012 RNC Convention in FL, coming in 2nd in votes in CD 7 behind Pete Coors. He repeated this action for the 2016 RNC Convention in OH, coming in 1st at the CD 7 Assembly. Since his initial foray into CO politics, he has been the Adams County Republican Vice Chairman, Acting Chairman, and finished his second term as Chairman in Feb 2019.
Anil has instituted a vetting process in Adams County to ensure candidates for all offices would support our Conservative Republican Platform and our US Constitution. He has implemented the first Independent Expenditure Committee for a County Republican Party in Colorado. As a COGOP SEC Member, he has introduced a motion to clean up the state party finances and as a COGOP SCC Member, he tried (via a motion) to stop the state party from implementing Open Primary in Colorado. Additionally, in 2014, a miracle occurred with Adams County Republicans winning 9 of 15 seats (2 more were close), a feat that had not occurred in 70+ years.
Anil has been vocal on issues that affect grassroots, conservatives, middle class & poor voters, demanding that our platform principles are enacted by all elected Republicans and political party officials. He has also been frequently invited to share his positions on Colorado media such as 710 KNUS, 560 KLZ, 910 POF, and 9 NEWS in Metro Denver, 600 KCOL in Loveland/Fort Collins, 740 KVOR in Colorado Springs, and 580 KUBC in Montrose/Grand Junction.
Anil has been an executive leader for Bonfils Blood Center and other organizations. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA), a Master’s in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University (Malvern, PA), and a Masters in Divinity from Nyack College / Alliance Theological Seminary (New York, NY). He is also a graduate of the Centurions Program and the Leadership Program of the Rockies. He loves to look at ways to make things better, increase profitability, efficiency, and effectiveness using his work experiences to date.
What Anil really enjoys the most is being father to his three kids, husband to an awesome wife, teaching the Bible to prisoners & churches, coaching basketball, and traveling the world, when possible. He believes politics is downstream of culture. If you change culture to conservatism; you will then change political affiliations accordingly. If we focus on, and win, our local races first then winning state and federal races will follow! God bless!
