This series of charts by Anil Mathai, based on the latest Colorado Secretary of State numbers, shows Republican's abysmal failure due to open primaries.  There is no truth in any argument saying that open primaries are good for the GOP.  The Party cannot fulfill its purpose of electing Republicans to office when more than half of the people eligible to vote in the Republican primary election will not affiliate with the party and its platform.  

A friend once said - People won't affiliate with the Democrat Party because of what they stand for, and they won't affiliate with the Republican Party because they won't stand for anything.  Note how Republican registration went up when Donald Trump with his strong Republican values ran for election again in 2024.
